"Dearest, kindest Shepherd, might we . . . that is, could I . . . uh . . . would it be okay . . . uh . . . uh?"
Jesus looked at the little lamb standing in front of Him and smiled tenderly. "What is it, Joy?"
"Could we snuggle? I'm not sure exactly what that is, but Precious said it was the best!"
"Certainly! It would be My pleasure. Let Me pick you up in My arms. Now, put your head on My shoulder . . . That's right. Are you comfortable, little one?"
"Yes, kindliest Sir."
The Shepherd began rocking her gently. "This is what Precious calls snuggling. It's nice, isn't it?"
"Oh, yes, this is the best! Precious was right."
Both were quiet for a while, enjoying their time together. Joy dozed off in the still of the warm summer's day. When she awakened, Jesus asked, "Are you happy here in the flock of My heart?"
"Oh yes, I'm happy, happier than I've ever been."
Jesus kissed the top of her head and said, "I love you, Joy. I always will. Remember, if anything bothers you, come straight to Me."
She looked at Him and said, "I promise, and I love You, too." She smiled shyly. "I enjoyed our snuggle very much."
Jesus smiled. "I did, too, . . . anytime." With that, He set the lamb on the ground, so she could return to her friends. Joy ran toward the other lambs, turning around every few feet to blow kisses to her beloved Master. Laughing, He blew kisses back.

21. Big Thoughts
"Whatcha doin', Precious?"
"I'm thinking big thoughts, Trusty."
" 'Bout what?"
"Well, I'm thinking about writing a book."
"A book! Wow! What would you put in it?"
"I would tell about me and you, and all the other lambs and, of course, our wonderful Shepherd."
Trusty smiled excitedly as he offered some advice. "You'd have to tell about the great birthday party we gave the Lord Jesus and the nature hikes we took. Then there was the kidnapping and exploring the cave, and lots more adventures, . . . and don't forget our poems and songs," he reminded Precious. Trusty's eyes twinkled. "Hey, I've got an idea for the title."
He grinned. "Let's call it The Adventures of Trusty and His Friends."
"Hmmm . . . an idea, but not a good one. I was thinking more along the lines of The Exciting Stupendous Adventures of the Amazing Precious the Wonderlamb and His Friends. What about that?"
Trusty frowned. "The title is longer than the book would be."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Precious thought for a minute. "Maybe we should keep it simple, something like . . . LambTalk."
Trusty nodded. "I like that. Writing a book sounds like a good idea, Precious, but I don't know . . . You reckon it will happen? It is an awfully big idea for a little lamb."
"The Lord will help me, Trusty. There's nothing too big for Him. I want everyone in the world to know about our kind, loving Shepherd. Maybe they would want to be one of His lambs, too . . . Yep, I think I'm going to write a book."
If you would like to be a real member of the good Shepherd's flock, you can be, by accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life and as your Savior. Matthew 1:21 says ". . . call his name JESUS; for He shall save His people from their sins." He is the Savior of the world. If you ask, He will become your Savior. He will forgive you for your sins. 1 John 1:9 " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
If you are willing to let Him be Lord of your life, then Jesus will welcome you into His flock. John 1:12 " . . . as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become children of God, to them that believe on His name."
There is room for you in the good Shepherd's flock and in the family of God. John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17For God sent not His Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."
1John 3:22-23 ". . . whatsoever we ask, we receive of (God), because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 23And this is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another . . . " (KJV,ASV)
Pray: "Dear God, I repent of the life I've lived away from You, and the deeds I've done that weren't pleasing to You. I want to be in the flock of Your heart, a part of Your family, a child of the true God. Please forgive me and cleanse me of my past and my sin. I want Jesus to be my Savior and Lord of my life. I yield myself and my future to Him. I will trust You and obey You, as You reveal Your will to me, knowing that what You want is the best for me. Thank You for saving me and giving me the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ, Your Son."
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you grow in your relationship with HIm by these steps:
1. Make time to learn spiritual truth. (John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." You can start with the Bible study lessons in the Gospel of Mark that I've written and included on this website or with lessons in other books of the Bible found on Sharon's website: momsbiblejournal.com.
2. Make time to talk with the Lord (Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus).
Ask Him to lead you each day, then listen for His voice, His promptings during the day. He will guide you. John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."
3. Make time to be with other Christian believers for encouragement. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but encouraging one another...
