SNUGGLING

 "Dearest, kindest Shepherd, might we . . . that is, could I . . . uh . . . would it be okay . . . uh . . . uh?"

Jesus looked at the little lamb standing in front of Him and smiled tenderly. "What is it, Joy?"

"Could we snuggle? I'm not sure exactly what that is, but Precious said it was the best!"

"Certainly! It would be My pleasure. Let Me pick you up in My arms. Now, put your head on My shoulder . . . That's right. Are you comfortable, little one?"

"Yes, kindliest Sir."

The Shepherd began rocking her gently. "This is what Precious calls snuggling. It's nice, isn't it?"

"Oh, yes, this is the best! Precious was right."

Both were quiet for a while, enjoying their time together. Joy dozed off in the still of the warm summer's day. When she awakened, Jesus asked, "Are you happy here in the flock of My heart?"

"Oh yes, I'm happy, happier than I've ever been."

Jesus kissed the top of her head and said, "I love you, Joy. I always will. Remember, if anything bothers you, come straight to Me."

She looked at Him and said, "I promise, and I love You, too." She smiled shyly. "I enjoyed our snuggle very much."

Jesus smiled. "I did, too, . . . anytime." With that, He set the lamb on the ground, so she could return to her friends. Joy ran toward the other lambs, turning around every few feet to blow kisses to her beloved Master. Laughing, He blew kisses back.
